* I've previously had head torches which give plenty of light, plus a zoom option to light a small distant area brightly - but they weigh a lot, and the wires soon break so the torch stops working.I've had "single unit" torches, which have no exposed, flexible parts. The wiring is safe, but they don't give much light. Fine for tucking in a pocket when walking the dog at this time of year. But this one!!! I had it tucked in my pocket after the previous day's late afternoon dog walk, when I was unexpectedly delayed while out on my bicycle. I carry small "be seen" bicycle lights at all times, but my super-bright headlight was at home, and my journey back on a dark, moonless, misty night included half a mile of rough, unlit public bridleway / farm track, deeply rutted from the recent harvesting.* On its brightest setting, this headtorch was more than up to the task of lighting my way home! Not only does its brightness rival my bicycle headlight (though the headlight covers a slightly wider area) - but as the headtorch was on my head, I was able to point it at exactly the place I needed to look, whether that was close or distant, straight ahead or slightly to the side, round a corner, whatever. And I could bow my head or turn aside in order not to blind oncoming traffic once back on a busy but unlit main road, or raise my head so that I can see as far ahead as I need!In short, I bought this headtorch so that I could stuff it in a coat pocket for winter dog-walks - but I now also stuff it in a pocket to use when cycling after dark.* There are plenty of different lighting options, and the light is dimmable. I particularly like that it's possible to use the bright beam and floodlight options simultaneously - I've always wondered why other torches don't do that! The "warm light" is an option I've never had before, but I rather like it!I'm also impressed that, unlike most headtorches, you don't have to cycle through all lighting options to switch the torch off - there is a dedicated on/off button in the middle.* So although not the brightest headtorch I've ever had; and although not the smallest I've ever had - this has to be my favourite of all time. I now use it (ideally in conjunction with my headlight) for cycling after dark, as well as for walking the dog.* The only quibbles I have are that the 4 blue lights on top show full charge for a long time, then the charge goes down fairly quickly. And my elderly fingers aren't as sensitive as they used to be, so I find it difficult to use the buttons when it's on my head. The "wave your hand" on-off option is helpful; also, I've made a pad of gorilla tape for the central button, so that I can locate all three buttons easily. (See attached photo.)* In short: 10/10
